How to overcome morning sickness during pregnancy

Morning sickness is one of the most frequent complaints of women during pregnancy, but not everybody knows why women suffer from it. It’s the most common symptom of pregnancy, comprising of nausea and general feelings of sickness, and it can occur at any point during the day – not just the morning.

Each woman is different, but morning sickness generally lasts until up to 12 weeks into a pregnancy, with the symptoms gradually fading over time. Pregnant women suffering form morning sickness generally complain more of the actual feelings of nausea, rather than actually throwing up.

The nausea is a direct response to the extreme level of hormonal activity going on in the body. The body has to make many adjustments during the early stages of pregnancy, a side effect of which is morning sickness. It’s perfectly natural, and though unpleasant, it won’t do you or your baby any harm.

The best way to compact the effects of morning sickness is to keep your levels of nourishment up so that your stomach is never empty. Many women have their own remedies for morning sickness, which can include adding a little ginger to a cup of hot tea or coffee. Another trick is to eat dry foods, such as crackers.

The most important thing to do to combat morning sickness during pregnancy is to relax and let nature run it’s course.
